Worship
The Bible explains that ‘worship’ is a matter of living for Jesus Christ on a daily basis, both individually and in community with other Christians.
Here at MOBC we express our worship of God in a number of ways including:
Sunday Celebrations
We meet together to celebrate God at 9:30am and 6pm on Sundays. Each celebration includes music, prayers, a reading from the Bible and a talk that applies the Christian message to daily life.
The 9:30am celebration offers age appropriate activities for children and is followed by morning tea.
The 6:30pm celebration is designed with youth and young adults in mind.
‘Hymnspiration’
Over the years many great hymns have given powerful expression to Christian faith and experience. ‘Hymnspiration’, which takes place on the first Thursday of each month at 2pm is an opportunity to sing some of the older hymns that are no longer sung at Sunday Celebrations.
Community Involvement
We serve the wider community in practical ways like helping Hope Street Urban Compassion provide breakfast for the homeless and making donations to organizations that assist people in need.
We operate a not-for profit community pre-school
We fund a casual teacher who works one day a week at a local primary school to help children with additional needs
We provide safe and secure environments where children and young people can have fun and learn more about God.
We offer English classes to those for whom English is a second language
We run a craft group where members of the wider community can draw, paint, sew, knit, crochet and chat over a cup of tea or coffee
