Prayer

Prayer is right at the heart of the Christian life. The Bible encourages us to pray about everything that is really important to us. Through prayer we can praise God, confess our sins, tell him our concerns, and ask for His help. To be a Christian is not about rules and regulations but about relationships; and prayer allows for an intimate relationship with God.

Prayer is also the foundation of everything we do at MOBC. Through our praying we lean on God who alone is able to provide the protection and strength we need to fulfil our mission.

Prayer is an important feature of the Sunday Celebrations when public prayers are led by one of the pastors or a member of the congregation.

There is also a trained team of people available to pray with those who would find this helpful following the Sunday Celebrations. Outside of these times team members are available by appointment. If you would like to make an appointment, please contact us here.

In addition there are opportunities for all who wish to pray together with others. All Growth Groups make time for prayer; and all Growth Groups are invited to join together at least twice per year when Church Prayer Meetings are held in the Rivergum Auditorium.

A number of other groups meet for prayer as follows:

  • Every Sunday morning from 9am-9:30am in the Gumnut Corner
  • The third Sunday evening of the month from 5pm-6pm in the Resource Room
  • The first Thursday afternoon of the month from 1pm-2pm
  • The fourth Saturday of the month from 8:30am-9:15am

If you have a specific prayer request please contact us via our contact page.

MOBC participates with other local churches in the annual World Day of Prayer and supports 30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World.
