All over the world, the Christian Church is experiencing growth. New shoots of life are springing up giving fresh dynamism, hope and vision. The Alpha COurse, which is presented by Nicky Gumble is one of these shoots. Over 11 million people have now attended an Alpha Course to explore what life is really all about.

Here at MOBC the Alpha Course is a regular feature. Over twelve thought provoking weekly sessions those who attend share great food, listen to a series of short talks and discuss any questions that arise.

Each talk covers a fundamental question such as:

  • Who is Jesus?
  • Why did Jesus die?
  • Why and how should I read the Bible?
  • How can I make the most of the rest of my life?

Everyone is welcome on an Alpha course. Some people want to investigate whether God exists and if there is any point to life; others are concerned about what happens after death; still others may have attended church for years, but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith.
